Aston 2-5 Gloucester B by Freezy McFreezerson

Gloucester B team braved the bitter blizzard of the east and travelled to Birmingham to play Aston.

Gloucester started the game strongly, putting together some neat moves towards the host’s goal. Efforts from Hayes and Harris were warnings before Randall looped the ball over the keeper after good work from Fortey on the edge of the area.

This gave Aston the kick up the proverbial and they quickly responded with a number of attacks. Johnson pushing the ball left to Ryder who slotted the ball home to equalise.

Randall bagged his brace after a great throughball from Hayes before Ryder scored his own brace - running from his own half all the way to the visitor’s goal.

The second half saw a more commanding effort from Gloucester. They quickly took the lead again when a quick throw from Thomas put Randall through whose whipped in cross rebounded in off the defender.

The lead was solidified a few minutes later when more good work from Randall down the right crossed in to Harris who took one touch and smashed the ball into the roof of the net.

Chances were then missed aplenty by the Yellows with Fortey missing from 6 yards out, Ansermoz tackled after taking too long to shoot from 4 yards out, and Harris’ 3 yard shot being cleared off the line before Ansermoz missed an almost open net on the follow up.

Fortey finished off the rout with a good finish curling past the flailing keeper and continuing the positive run of form for the Bs of late.
